Good ride by Sunderland yesterday and cracking support from Walkner. Can it be a KTM podium lockout?

    Sam Sunderland stopped as well

It looks like Lyndon is struggling to keep his tea and Tim Tam down.

Question for you Pebble - Today's stage was cancelled, does it get re-run tomorrow or just missed out completely?

It's missed completely - a few people (including Barreda !) are asking why everything cannot simply be delayed by a day but it seems to be down to logistics. The Dakar 'caravan' itself is huge and once all the associated logistics (police, security, safety teams, local authorities, hotels/catering etc etc) are take n into account it's simply impossible to move everything by a day at short notice.

Having said that, they still have a road ride of about 700km to do today

Bad news for racers who will have fewer stage miles to close gaps on the riders ahead of them, good news for the riders trying to defend those gaps ..........

Yes to 2.5 days. No to the record. The whole event wins that one.

Also the landslide that caused the cancellation has taken at least two lives and caused the evacuation of around 1000 homes so the Dakar organisation have leant the medical team to the humanitarian aid for the day. They can't race without it.
