For auction is a used pair of KTM adventure panniers made by Hepco and Becker. You are probably all aware of these style of panniers as many bikes have them fitted or came with the bike.
I chopped my Adventure in for an RC8R recently and no longer have a need for the panniers so I thought it was time to move them on. Offering them to a fellow KTM enthusiast is my first port of call before sticking them on flea bay.
Any potential buyer needs to be aware of the condition of the panniers. I will be totally honest here so you know what you may be buying into.
The panniers are damaged but function ok. If you are looking for a cheap set of functioning panniers then these could be of interest.
While touring around Scotland I had a bit of a spill on a green lane. The left hand Pannier bore the brunt of the crash and has been pushed in and burst open on the corner. From the pictures you can see that there is about a 1.5" gash in the corner of the pannier. I am pretty sure the plastic could be pulled out to make it a little more pleasing on the eye. The most important fact is that the inner skin of the pannier is untouched so the pannier is still 100% waterproof. The locking catch that locks the pannier to the bike has been bent slightly but it does still lock onto the pannier mounting frame. I rode another 500 miles after the crash so I know that the pannier functions normally. If you grab the pannier and pull it around you will feel some play in the mounting. You could try and bend it back into shape however you may prefer to replace it as the locking mechanism is also shot I think? The panniers have been in my garage for a while and the bike has now gone so I can't try them back onto the bike to check, for the purpose of this sale please assume that the locking function of the pannier to the frame is shot.
The right hand pannier is in much better shape, working perfectly with one small corner scrape. This much smaller scrape appeared after a much less dramatic "off" while green laneing the bike on the same trip.
I have all the keys for the panniers.
These panniers retail at £400 when new. I would like to get £80 for them. I live in the West Midlands ( Dudley Wolverhampton area ) so collection if you are close is probably best. I am not sure how much postage would be, maybe a courier service would work? If you have any bright ideas about getting these panniers delivered to your door then please let me know. I would expect delivery of any kind to be quite expensive due to the bulky nature of the panniers.
Please feel free to mail me if you are interested in the panniers, first come first served. You could make me an offer, I will consider all offers after a few days if no one has offered me the asking price of £80

here are some photobucket links, hopefully they will work and you will be able to see the pictures of the panniers and the damage for yourselves. I am pretty new to this forum so I am keeping my fingers crossed that the pictures work out ok and you can all see them.
