Just a coupla queries about the 950sm.

Mine's a 2007 and chews about 500ml of oil per 1000km. There was an oil leak at the drive shaft which was fixed, but the thing is still eating oil. This rate seems high to me...any pointers?

Also, how many of your ride yours in the rain? Not sure if it's the Australian fender design, but mine throws water onto my back in the rain.

Lastly, I adjusted my rear brake lever down and now the brake light only comes on at full lock. I can't see anything in the repair or owner's manuals about adjusting this - any ideas?

down a B road and there's a sharp left hander followed 200yds later by sharp right hander.
comes round left hander and see a cyclist (proper helmet lycra et cetera) on opposite side half way along the straight.
looming into view round oncoming corner is a big silver 4x4 (lexus thing?) doing a fair rate of knots (this being a 30 and a place where 2 buses can't pass without one full on pavement).
i'm not able to give room for him but i think- "he's got to slow stop cos of the bike"....No, at last minute he sees bike and swerves onto my side of road.
no chance to swerve, i do the natural thing and give a beautiful short sharp punch to the mirror which is now lined up between the bikes throttle and the mirror - it would have passed over my hand on the throttle.
knew straight away that something had broken so didn't bother stopping and drove straight to hospital.
reported to police but the twunt hasn't come forward.
last sight was his mirror (heated, lights, electric et cetera??) tossing 20ft in the air.

Hi,

My 8'S been leaking oil, finally got it diagnosed as the oil pump cover seal on Left hand side of engine, Its the cover sits above the oil filter and rear drain plug near the rear sprocket, not the water pump!

Local dealer Albion has been great, but they’ve never seen this before and can't find a new seal (only a pre shaped big rubber o ring type thingy) in the UK so have had to order from Austria, not normally a problem…. but I'm off on a trip round Europe next week and possibly a few laps of the nurburgring if I time it right and my bike's in the work shop slowly leaking finest synthetic onto the floor and no parts in the UK:eek:

Any one got any experience of what KTM are like for parts shipping or ideas where I could find a new seal?
