Sad news. Please read with caution

    Dear everyone,

I saw a very sad sight today on my travels and I dont want this to be the place where bad news is broken to close friends or relatives unwhittingly so please take appropriate steps as you read this.

I was on the M11 today (Thurs 5th July 2012) and saw one of our brethren fallen on the south bound carriageway. I dont know who this poor soul is but his bike was stood up near him with a flat front tyre. I couldnt see much else in the way of damage but the rider was laying in the road and had someone with him, tending to him.

The bike looked to be a 950SM or similar with a taller screen on the front. It was black and had some luggage strapped to it on the tail....a cuple of soft panniers and tail pack i think.

Obviously i cant be sure if he survived or not, hopefully he was not badly hurt but it was impossible to tell. The entire M11 was closed at this point so it would have been all on the news. I think the time was about 330-4pm

I'm not sure why I'm posting this....i guess it would be good to know who he is and if he is OK....if anyone on here knows(?)

and it served as an upsetting reminder ot be careful on the motorways as well as the twisties eh

Poor lad. Good on him for still riding a decent bike at his age

ah, thank you for posting that up, I was so worried cos when I saw him he was motionless and cos he wasnt getting much help i thought he might be dead :-(

But he's not! I guess he got a front blowout and binned it or something. Poor bloke. Good news though, hate to see a brother on the tarmac like that!!

At least he is okay that's good. And 61 on a 950SM??! Must be made of strong stuff.
