Thread: EXC 300 power valve adjustment?

Hi all im new here,i just bought an 2001 model 300 exc for a bit of fun laning. My friend said you could adjust the power valve but had no idea how to do it, nor do i. I'm looking to make it more snappy in power delivery.

i have scoured google for quite some time but to no avail. any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

That little flat head screw on the RHS of your engine.

the one with 2 8mm bolts either side of it? also are the different coloured springs only for newer models?

Yep that's the one!! Screw that in or out dependant on what you want, you can remove that little cover and change the spring also. Red spring is like crosser!! Blap blap blap blap blap straight on the band every gear!!

nice thanks alot! once this is done it just needs jetting correctly waaaaay to much spooge coming out of pipe, other than that its an awesome bike

You can adjust powervalve on the fly so it's good for adjusting to what you're riding!!
As for spunky pipes I can't help you mines always run clean!!
Wazza likes a spunky pipe though!!
