Hi all,
Any Jetting advise??

Ive just got hold of a very low hours KTM Powerparts 280 barrel and piston for my 2008 250 exc-f.

Any suggestions on basic jetting for this kit? the bike is stock except FMF 4.1 silencer and Megabomb header.

What do I need to fit it? new rings I presume, base and head gasket, anything else while i'm at it?

do you know what jetting you are on? and whats this about a green spring ?

No need for a green spring, lockwire the linkage.

Do the other stuff I recommend as well.

Dont forget to ask for a head gasket for the 280 kit as it is different to the standard size.

This was replaced about 30 hours ago when I had the bottom end rebuilt. I did the lock wire mod to the carb at the same time.

Looking for an online repair manual so I can have a go at it myself. any links anyone??

Done a bit of trawling and checked my carb jetting as per when I last had it apart and this is what I found this on 4Gear web site:

Recommended jetting : idle jet: 42 (54531607042). jet needle: OBETP - 5th position from top (59031034100). main jet: 168 (54531623168). leak jet: 70 (54631085070). air screw: 1,5 turn open. pump spring: green (SXS08250030).

I currently have fitted all of the above except the Leak Jet which is an 85. any ideas what I should go to?? on a std 250 some say as small as 50. is this to small for a 280?
