    250 exc rear exhaust silencer packing

    hi all as said my 250 exc silencer needs repacking and never done before seen them on ebay for around £8-10 is this right ? also is it easy to do as i,ve read about them getting too hot? any links or advice please ,thanks pete

    sounds about right mate easy job and makes your bike run better just dismantle it and basically wrap as much as you can in the old girl its a little fiddly but you will get the nak !! any of the old stuff thats burnt or hard get rid of and re use the soft cleaner stuff from the outside

    ok mate thanks for that ,i see theres a repair kit for them @ around £50 !!!

    I have just done my 250 exc-f £6.45 on ebay inc p&p for "flat exhaust packing" (4 stroke) just as taddy says "easy job just a bit fiddly"

    is it different for packing 2 strokes from 4 strokes?

    How often do you have to re pack your exhaust mine is an 06 bike will i need to repack this and how can i tell when i do?

    I've only repacked the SMC's exhaust (4T). It is a small difference since the 2Ts cans are full with burned oil.
    So the material should be direct to the inner tube. I can't tell how often you should repack your can.

    ok brilliant thanks for the fast reply, i am going to have a go at mine when i get some time it cant do it any harm.

    if they are getting noisy then they need doing with the noise comes power loss so its worth keeping them good and quiet
