Thread: insuring exc using the vin number

im trying to find insurance companies that will insure a bike only using the vin number as the bike isnt registerd yet.
had a quote for £700 but was told if it had a reg number it would be £200, and cant get a reg number untill its insured.
anyone been in this situation before and how did you resolve it.

My insurer let me do this for 5 days until the bike was registered. If you go to a dvla office to have the bike registered they can issue a reg number immediately, might cost a couple of quid extra though.

Carole Nash give you 2 weeks to come up ith a reg number..... they will extend that if you call before it runs out. Costs no more than if you have a reg and there is no charge to put the reg number on the new certificate.

Same here. you should be able to insure on a Vin No as a temp measure

mce bike insurance do the vin no, thats what i done to insure my 6days 350-f very helpful

I'm currently with ebike for insurance, Anybody ever done this temp vin malarky with them ?

Still toying with idea of registering my 2004 sx frame. (before i sell it)
