    The lion royal wales

Ok I know this isnt Tripadvisor but
Weve just come back from a 2 day break in wales and stopped at the lion royal in rhydher apsolutley brilliant weekend, there were 9 of us we booked a guide through mary the owner she is a very nice lady who wont take no flannel and serves a good pint! she sorted it for us picked up at 9am after a spot on breakfast then returned at frikin 6 knacked 130miles later!!!! strata florida etc
Im telling you about this because the hotel has had some bad reveiws on here and I think she dosnt deserve it mary couldnt do enough for you, the whole set up is perfect for a lads and lasses weekend away with the bikes, the bikes are secure as are the vans theres no moaning with the noise a brilliant atmosphere what more can i say, were going back next year so if your up for it let me know.
    Cheers Grant
Hope to show some photos and vids

I have been a few times and Mary is a gem. Ok the hotel is in a little of a time warp ( but it is in wales) Breakfasts are brilliant. There is a room to dry your clothes. Pubs outside the Hotel as well.
    Defo worth a trip!

We were two of the nine riders and we also had a great time and still talking about it. Like Grant says, it is no Ritz, but for what you pay and the service provided it is spot on. To me, a beds a bed as long as its clean and smells fresh, sorted! After that days ride, you will sleep on a clothes line....guaranteed!
Mary couldn't have been a better host serving whatever you wanted any time of the day or night, including a cracking cup of tea (late) after a 'few' beers! Shame a couple of Grants riders didn't have a couple of coffee's after Fridays intake, (but thats another story)

Anyway, Nowt wrong with this venue for a decent trip, great guide, great scenery, great night out, cheap, i would go back anytime. Only thing that went wrong was my VW blowing up on the journey home, Joy!!

I've stayed there. Breakfasts are great but when the patronesse slides into your room at night, there's something slightly Fawlty Towers about the place!
Got to ride this streetcar to the end of the line, and it's a one-way trip and the last stop is the cemetery
