    Help please.....

Right, top end rebuild done on 07 450 sxf now when the clutch wont work when in gear?

Bled the clutch, I get feel through the clutch lever, im sure the push rod is working.

Do I need to drop the oil and coolant again to take off the clutch side of the engine to re align something I missed when putting back together????

Did I forget to buy everyone drinks or something???

Well im presuming the above will go away once engine is warm, stripped it back down and happy everything is ok.

Still have issues and advice would be well received.

Just bought a 2007 KTM 450 sxf changed the piston, it was running last week when I bought it but had to be bump started.

Not used it since, because wanted to change piston and have done so, pretty sure I put it back together correctly with engine locked at TDC and marked.

Valve check shows a couple of cams slightly out of tollerance 0.17 max and one at 0.2 however awaiting a measuring tool so i can order the right sizes (could this be a starting issue?)

    What I have done:

    Changed battery
Gone through every connector with contact spray.
    Changed spark plug
Dismantled carb and put back together (using KTM service guide back to OEM spec)

There is a spark from the spark plug when cranking over, I should know got a nice electric shock.....whoops.

I have just bought a multimeter and trying to use it as the KTM mainteace manual shows to check parts getting through them but can bet on ohm reading from the TPS???.

Its cranking over fine but just does not want to spark into life.

    Any one have any ideas?????

Get and old plug and open the gap really wide. Spark should be big, fat and blue. weak yellow sparks are no good.

It was definately fat and blue alternate sides. Taking it to my local dealer as have run out of ideas. Can only presume the engine timing is out or something from previous owner.

    Well still no better off.

I know valve clearances are slightly off so going to sort those out.

Seems there are some isses with the auto decompression from a google search? Anything I can check? I do remember seeing a bit of wear on the black cam rocker where the auto decompresor touches it........
