Thread: 250 excF v 250xcw-F What the diff..

What is the diffence between a 2008 250excf and a 250xcw-f . Looking for a new bike to use for Hare & Hounds , Enduros and a bit on green laning .

XC is more MX than the EXC... stiffer sussies etc.

Is that it just the suspension ? . What about the engine and gearbox are they the same as a EXC

Very simlar to exc but no lights, clock and switches
Same suspension and gearbox . Made for south african market most bikes that are over here .

250xcf is the more focused cross counrty bike with different suspension and closer ratio gearbox like sxf .

Different flywheel on the XCs just the same as the SXs

So is the xc more suited to a quicker rider ? . Or can the suspension be knocked off a bit and then have better gearratios for a sportsman rider

i ve got an xcf-w 280 and i've rode my friends 250 exc and my bike is much much more agressive than the exc which is good for laning and moto x but his is by far a better hare and hound bike as the power is really nice and smooth for tricky stuff, mine can be a pig for that.....but there again it'll wheelie straight from the throttle in 6th with a 13 52 combo on in 5 th with a 13 48 which is still 60 mph wheelies straight off the flick of the wrist....with an exc 3 rd gear is your limit, i came off a 450 so when i first tried an 250 exc it felt shite so bought the 280 and never looked back..i think the moral to it all is what you intend to use it for, i'd go for the exc if you were soley hare n hound bound, but you defo need something with more grunt for laning as when my friend rides mine, hes as sick as fuck
