    exc 200 vs 2502t

lets start by saying i am not a very big lad at all 5.5ft tall and 60kg without kit

currently got an exc 250, sometimes find it a bit heavy, so thinking lighter bike

but the exc125 would be to underpowered to me as i do a lot of green laning and steep hills so dont want to loose that low power that the 250 puts out

so my question is, would i even notics the weight difference between the exc200 and exc250, is loosing that power really worth the weight change ?

or could i tune the 200 right up with FMF granrly and other bits to give it more power as i am so light it would pull good during hill climbs step ups.

just not sure on this one, i know the best thing to do is ride one but none of my mates got one

Eat more food, go to the gym, ride a mountain bike, do some jogging.

Get yourself on a good diet and do some work so as to make the 250 lighter to you.

You'll find riding a lot easier too.

Work out best in the long run, you get bike fit and you'll find riding improves and stuff you used to struggle with becomes much easier!

The 200's are the same weight as a 125 and i think there's only a 10kg or so difference between them and the 250/300's. So as said before, get to the gym and make the bike lighter by makin you stronger. Also think of all the other advantages to hitting the gym, two tickets to the gun show anyone? lol

200 is more fun and more involved , yes a 250 will leave it on the open going but you will get that back on the techy stuff and you will enjoy your riding more , dont underestimate the 200 they are a wolf in sheeps clothing and most people who slag them have never owned one

You don't say what year your 250 is. I've got 2011 and while I don't think there's much actual weight difference between it and 2005 model I used to have it feels a lot lighter and makes better power. My son who rides a 200exc hated my old one compared to his 200 but now I think given the choice he would have the 2011 model over his 200. We don't ride trails - only enduro, H&H & practice tracks.

His 200exc is an awesome bike but I find it too much like a 125 on steroids (which isn't really being fair) and much prefer the 250. None of us are exactly lightweights. I would stick with the 250 and if it's an older version and you can afford it, get a later one - leccy start is best thing ever.

think the gym idea is a good one, still not sure though do love having all that power to hand gets me out of trouble on some hills,

my 250 is a 2009 which is light i know compared to a 450 or something like that, just need to build my arm strenght as legs and core are fine but arms kill me lol

What you need is some forearm training , i precsribe you a course of Masturbation this will build up your forearms but you wont be able to ride your bike due to loss of sight

grip with legs more, you should be able to blast along trails holding onto the bars with just thumb and forefinger. Arms used to steer and operate controls, not to hold on!
