    My New Bike

    Hello everyone,

I just picked up my white RC8 last Wednesday, after a very long wait and must say I'm blown away by it the more I ride it, the more I fall in love with it.

Was wondering if there are any RC8 owners in and around London? I haven't seen another one yet, and also I've noticed a slight glitch in the fuel notification on the dial, I get a low fuel warning, fill up, but it take the computer about 10min to realise the tank is now full and to stop warning me, has anyone else experienced this?

Also, fuel range on the screen, it gives a maxi and mini range, which I'm assuming should change according to how much fuel there is? this doesn't seem to be the case.

I'm completely dazzled by how much info there is in this awesome dial, screen is bigger than my laptop

    Otherwise, all's well.

Do you guys/girls organise rideouts? it would be cool to go riding with other owners.

    Thanks,
    M

Welcome MS8 It just gets better and better mate!!

The fuel range starts counting down when you go into reserve before that it is static

We have a KTM trackday arranged by Weeksy for Sept 4th need some more arsee's there we are going to get our arsee's kicked otherwise
I recon 6 RC8's abreast round the twistys should keep the moto's and SD's behind us

Hi MS8 and welcome to the forum! There are a few about in the Greater London area. I was having a drink outside a pub last Sunday and a white un came storming past. Must have had the Akra cos louder than standard can I have on mine. Also seen a few down Box Hill area. Don't reveal too much about your location though mate, there are sharks around forums that look at photos and comments to see where you live, before nicking your bike! Sending people pm is much more secure way to arrange meetings etc!

Thanks BigVern, you're right, I never say where I live nor meet people around my area, always somewhere else. Oh yeah, the akra will be my next pruchase, but it won't be till next year...I used to have a 675, so the standard can on this beast is loud enough for now.

Hey Rifle, this track day is at Cadwell! so far away from where I'm based!

I've also found that the standard can frees up a bit with a few miles and definitely sounds louder 1000 miles in. My mate took mine for a spin and I was pleasantly pleased with the growl from the side of the road when he went past giving it some!

Just fitted my akra and had the remap on sat. Its nice to finally have a proper soundtrack for such a cracking ride.

    Hey,
Glad you're happy with bike - nice choice in colour too. I still thiunk the white is the best looking, even over the race rep colours,

The fuel warning can be changed to re-check the levels at shorter intervals than the standard 300 second check. I reset mine to check every 30 seconds, this updates the "mileage left" readout and will reset the fuel warning light after a fill up, after 30 seconds too.
It's all in the handbook - I found I had to read it to understand the clocks - first time I've ever bothered reading a handbook for anything!!
