    SD-R Electrical Problems

Anyone experienced electrical problems on an SD-R?

I was in France and Belgium the other weekend and one of the fuses blew (realised that when I got back and fixed it in no time). Anyway, the alarm wasn't working, started giving me 5 beeps and either immobilised the bike or allowed it to start with no speedo/rev counter or any other indication for that matter.... rode home from Belgium with essentially no dashboard but hey... didn't clock up any miles either.

Since then I've replaced the fuse, no problems hasn't blown again alarm all working etc but still intrigued.

Tonight in the pissing rain I turned onto the North Circular and thought hey that's funny, this bike doesn't have hazzard warning lights... well it did tonight. Indicating right, they were all flashing. Yes I looked and looked again to make sure. Only did it the once and fine ever since.

Come on... so it handles like a top of the line Ducati, did some bastard put Ducati electrics on it too

All that aside, still love the bike and wouldn't swap it for anything. My girlfriend reckons it just don't like the all the road crap (lights indicators etc) and want's to be a track bike only.

She might have a point... who's doing Rockingham on 4th of May or Brands GP on 29th April??

sounds like something is shorting out to earth and blowing fuses,my '06 14000mile 950SM started blowing headlamp fuses, then it developed and then the ignition fuses went.
Turned out to be the wiring loom from under the clocks chafed thru to bare wires on the fork leg. Might be worth checking 52k.
