I had a 950SE in 07 and sold it for more than that.

I should have kept it and am now tempted to get another,especially as they have lopped £2k off the asking price.

I also think the 950SM is a bargain at that price and also prefer the carbed motor to the 990 and FI,having owned an Adv 950,the aforementioned 950SE and also SD990 and RC8.


KTM reached their zenith with the later 950s-my SE was stunning with perfect fuelling.

They have yet to produce an FI'd bike which comes close,and I've ridden them all,I think,including 690 SM,SMC,Duke III,SD990,SM990 and RC8.

my 950SM Needed carbs cleaning 3 times and was an erratic starter ,but faultless when I sold it. The 990 for me is the best Bike I have ever ridden/owned in 32 yrs of biking ITHANGYOU!!

How good is the screen ?

I Might ,its just I dont get time to use it ,the screen is great!! Most of my Biking Holidays is now done with the enduroindia/himalaya team as medic so the gs doesn't get the use. I use a T Max for work and the Katoom for fun ,problem is as soon as you sell a GS you want another!! The GSA12 is the best GS I've owned , had 2 GSA1150s the last being a very pretty SE ,but nothing beats the fun of a 990SM
