Thread: Trying to buy 990 SM!

Hi Guys and Gals, I´ve had a couple of test rides on the SMT and SD and decided I really want an SM(T)!

I´ve had a quote of 8.2k for an 08 SM at KTM in Hemel but I´ve seen it much cheaper at Leisure Trail so I´ve been trying to get them to give me a part-ex valuation on my SV650. I´ve rung three times so far and they just won´t return my calls! I´d heard good things about Paul, but my experience has been pretty poor so far!

I´ve also tried Premier Bikes in Oxfordshire but they offered me pittance for the SV...

So, I´m wondering if anyone knows a dealer that will sell me an 08 990 SM quickly and cheaply?! I´ve booked a week holiday to go touring on it from next weekend

Hi James Paul will only offer you the bottom book price on your sv has they don't real want road bikes his words not mine my mates after a bike hes got in and he did not want his mint tdm so my guess his he don't rely want to take your sv in a deal

Did you call Leisure Trail today (Friday)? I was in there earlier and they were up to their necks in nobbly tyres. I have only ever had great service from them.

i am hoping that they will give me a good deal on my SD..heres hoping anyways!!
Went in there today and Dean (one of the mechs who i have know for years) was talking me into one, i love my SD but i miss the Motard thang really!

i dont really care about top speed anymore really what i prefer is bottom end grunt which the SM has over the SD, ok not by a massive amout but every little helps!!
the riding postion is better suited to me as well.
At the price they are doing that 990, at i am surprised it has not gone sooner really!

premier bikes in didcott have got a 2008 model 990 sm , in orange with 1mile on the clock for 7750 bargain !! with a shit load of extras

yeah i gave em a ring bermo, but they could only offer me pittance for my sv as partex :(

however, good news is Paul at Leisure Trail rang me back and apologized for not being in touch yesterday

You could try Paul at Robinsons Rochdale (http://www.robinsonsrochdale.co.uk/), he did me proud when buying my 990 SM (In ORANGE ) but I do know they don't have any in stock (can get them tho')

Also, Craigs motorcycles (http://www.craigsmotorcycles.com/) were very helpful and they DID have them in stock.... Worth a try fella...
