Yep, you need to get the Akra map flashed onto the ECU. Unless you have the software, its something that needs doing by a KTM dealer.

Do you need the akra mapping...?

-with Db-killers in, no you don't.
    -With out Db killer, yes.

Can you load the mapping your self....?
-Yes by using tuneecu, only thing you have to do is buy a cable.

Sigh, let me guess. It was this ebay item?
KTM 990 SMT ACROPOVIC EVO TITANIUM + CARBON EXHAUST on eBay (end time 11-Jul-11 19:36:45 BST)

Was hoping to make a bid but then they "vanished".

great info thanks. kinda answers one question.. £46 cable or dealer £45.

what effect do the db killers have once its mapped ? i.e normal road is ok, who cares about the noise. but on track days i might have to put them in ???

Putting the baffles in or out shouldn't really affect anything - other than noise. The mapping is to set the bike up for the free flowing characteristics of the cans, which only changes marginally with or without db killers.
You may lose a pony or two with them in, but I doubt you'll be able to tell.
As for noise limits at track days - the man with the meter will tell you if you need them in!
Two minutes to pop them in if required and you'll be good to go.

    SMT Akra Map

    Hi

Sorry to hijack the thread but if I reverted back to the factory map with the akras left on the SMT (without baffles) would I get better MPG?

At the moment it seems to be drinking more fuel than my Grand Cherokee does!!!

i think it negates your warranty to have the wrong map with the Arkra's fited.
