Thread: Ktm 690 duke 33bhp restriction

As the story goes, I passed my test but am in the restriction period and I want a duke! But fi international/alpha technik don't provide a kit for it, how is it restricted to 33bhp. It would be great if someone shed some light on it.
The thing I dont understand is the 690 smc and enduro can be done so I'm a lil lost as to why the duke can't be. Anyway if you know how it is restricted let me know.

If the restriction can be applied to the SMC and the Enduro then I reckon the same restrictor will work on the Duke. Get the Restrictor Kit part number and give either Leisure Trail or Redline KTM a call. They know their orange....

My Duke is restricted to 34hp, or at least it's supposed to be
There's no restriction kit on the 690's, you have to flash the ECU with a different map.

Ok that sounds interesting, how much was it to be restricted? Were you issued with a cert?

I bought it brand new with the restriction, as I saved about £1500 in tax compared to a unrestricted one. (I live in Norway btw)
It's basically just a remap of your ECU, don't know how much they'll charge you for that, but the prices in Norway varies from £50 to £200.
The dealer sorted out everything with the DVLA, I didn't have to do anything myself.
