Been looking for a private used ktm 350 exc 4 stroke but put off a bit with HPI check problems, decided to ring a few dealers to see what I could get a new one for. I was suprised how much the price comes down with no part ex and pay cash (although I have no doubt they would love to stitch me up extortionate finance deal which is never going to happen!) so I am interested.
The problem is my nearest ktm dealer is 70 miles away and not got a good reputation especially where warranty claims are involved. I have a husky dealer local and I know them quite well but as yet (more ringing round to do some were closed) the husky is £200 more than the ktm, the husky comes with sump guard and fan which I would have to buy for the ktm but also comes with the linkage suspension and (supposedly) better forks neither of which I am that fussed about but what does bother me is the husky does not have a kickstart back up like the ktm does, I know you should never need it but nice to have just in case. The kick start can be fitted to the husky but thats another £250.

Also it makes me wonder what that twa* Stefan Pierer the ktm MD ceo or what ever he is said about husky becoming the "Premier" brand and the amount of complaints about the quality of the later ktm's taking a nose dive, is he cutting costs and driving ktm in to the ground because he has a bigger stake in husky?

Are later husky (ktm husky) owners having many problems?
