exc 300 base gasket leak

Hi my base gasket was leaking last time I was out so I replaced it today, the one I replaced it with was probably half the thickness and now it's seeping just a little around the front, only slightly but this can't be right I let the bike get nice and hot and it didn't get any worse but still...
