I have received my 1390 EVO now, and have put some miles on it. My early impressions compared to my "old" 2023 1290 EVO are:
The most noticeable difference is the handling. The bike feels super light compared to the 1290. Even though its 1kg heavier, the bikes feels 20kg lighter when flicking the bike side to side. I do not know how much this difference is due to the Power GP tyres as I haven't tested those before. I ran S22, Rosso 4 and Rosso 4 Corsa on the 1290. It will surprise me if this is only due to the tyres as the "flickability" on the 1390 is drastically improved over the 1290.
The difference in power is not that big and I would say its not worth an upgrade based on power alone. You do feel the shiftcam kicking in and at around 6000 - front wheel goes straight up.
The gearing has changed for the better. Now 5th gear is usuable in road legal speeds. I would say that 1 and 2 gear also feels different. I think they are longer than on the 1290 - I need to ride the bike more to be sure..
The suspensions feels a bit better too. The bike feels more stable, and there is more of a "magic carpet" feel to the bike when riding in somewhat bumpy roads at fast pace.
Brakes - Dont really feel any difference from 1290. Nice feature that you can adjust brake "bite" now on the new mastercylinder.
Antiwheelie feature - It works very well, but more like a antiflip feature. You will not be able to float along a wheelie with the throttle pinned at different levels. Once you hit the level you set it to, the bike cuts the power. Its not a violent cut, but you will not be able to keep the wheelie going. It works very well in the sence that it will prevent you from flipping it.
Other than that there are some layout differences on the dash and new functions.
They have added rev limiter when cold - same as BMW has. Needs to warm up before you are allowed to rev higher than 5500.
Lean angel sensor was a cool feature off course.
