Hi all, my 1999 250 exc 2 stroke is killing spark plugs, the bike just dies as if it's running out of petrol, it also seems to be pinking or suffering from bad detonation so i can only asume it's an electrical problem..
any help would be much appreciated..

250 exc killing plugs

Hi, everything seems good with carb settings etc, 175 main jet, 45 idle jet, n85c needle jet, air screw 1.5 turns out, all standard settings as ktm workshop manual.
the bike also has a complete standard exhaust, i am running it 50/1 with rock oil racing synthesis 2 fully synthetic pre mix...

The weather is pretty warm at the moment so maybe go to a 172 main, turn your air screw out more (leaner) may be even lower your needle one slot.
KTM stock jetting is generally rich.
