You could check what your owners manual says. Its an oil change not rocket science...

 

Every 15 hours for oil change and every 30 for filters. Check/clean screens and plug each time for anything metallic. It's what I've been doing on my 450.

 

Depends on how much clutch use you do and if you do short runs as those two things shorten oil life.
The RFS only takes a litre so its not a big deal to drop it when it's looking dirty. The RFS can tolerate dirty oil and low oil level.

Like Pindie says, the short screen under the engine is the best tell tale of bearing wear.

 

Kev, if the screens, plug and oil always come out clean (ish) i.e. no metallic bits and bobs would you say this means all is well within the motor and G box?

I just keep an eye on it and when it looks dirty change it, check the screens every other change and filters every 3rd oil change, motorex oil.

 

Thanks chaps ive been doing oil and filters before now at around 20 odd hours, so seems to be within limits....
