Time to treat the old girl to a new battery.
Any advice on my best option? Is standard original the way to go, or is there a better choice?
Clearly I am very poor, otherwise I wouldn't still have the same bike after nearly 9 years, so not interested in spending vast amounts just to save a few ounces in weight, just want something that will spin the starter.
Cheers.

You can get a 7ah version of the 'standard' battery which is just a bit taller, it still fits under the seat and will allow the motor to spin a bit quicker on the starter. The model number of the battery escapes me at the moment!

I have had a motobatt and it was rubbish - didnt last - but matey has had one last for 3 yrs ..... luck of the draw? I have always gone back to yuasa. Always cheaper off ebay or (no idea why) honda dealers.

The motobatt came today, doesn't really fit in the battery cradle. Too wide by a couple of mm. It's also taller, but can still get the seat on.
On a positive note, it started the bike from cold on the button, and that's never happened before.
