165 35 L needle clip 2 or 3 air screw 1.5 + they're all slightly different clean and smooth right from the off
As ozzy said I'm running this setting also as recommended by ozzy and mark, but on clip 3 a tad rich but I'm running 55:1 it's 99% there remember the temps are dropping so I will be expecting it to run leaner and hoping for 100% soon.

Any updates guys

I made a slight change today with what I think was good as the weather is getting colder 38 pilot air screw 1:3/4 out' 165 main, n2zl clip 3 ran very well pulled very strong plug was dark brown it was great on the throttle ran well from pilot through to the main jet 55:1 mix my fuel was good with the 35 pilot haven't had time on the bike to see what the difference is

Please post your previous settings when replying ^^^ as above ^^^

Suzi does it for me,,, and a tad rich at the moment which is good on clip 3 so whhhooohaaaa

Old
38 pilot
165 main
n2zj clip 2 hot 3 cold (cold borderline lean)
1 3/4 there abouts

New (needle)
necj (suzi) clip 3 runs sweat, smooth and a little richer which is good, although not cold at the moment the air is denser so looking good and a tad richer than what i have been running so just a clip change in summertime.
Sounds great bud, better richer than leaner not tried that needle but don't think there is that much in them as they are there,

Hi.

Tried it today and first impressions it is what I am looking for. Spent the rest of the day with my eldest son in A&E, broken thumb, collar bone and wrist plus knocked out for a while. Not a good day to be a biking father but he has been kept in overnight due to the head injury. Must say our local hospital has been fantastic. Hope to get out soon but the boy will be in plaster for six weeks

My fan kit arrived yesterday and want that fitted before going out again, always thought the bike was quick to over heat.

Alann
Hope he is ok bud and makes a quick recovery and bounces. Back

Just got back from Wales using the NECJ needle for the first time. Wow, what a difference. Absolutely freakin brilliant. Smooth all the way from bottom to top, fantastic power and even the road ride back was a pleasure (despite the rain!). It smooths out the power delivery amazingly well. I need to check the plug colour when I get a chance but I am blown away, it's the best the bike has been since getting it 67hrs ago! :D Fuel consumption was very good compared to the other 300EXC with us but hard to tell if it was different to the last needle I used because the riding was different. My bike has always been pretty good on fuel. I am sold, just wish I knew about this needle sooner. Hang on, I did, DK once replied to a post on a forum and told me about it, I just never bothered to try it! :D
Did you get a chance to check the plug mate

When people say green spring 2 threads. Does this mean 2 turns in from flush or out to show 2 thread sticking out on the PV spring?
2 threats in so you will be looking at the engine casing threads . and the mapping wires are usally at the left hand radiator side and left is when you are sitting on the bike mate , ive just bought another 300 just waiting on it coming in and il be running necj needle clip 3 that's from the top of the needle counting down blunt end. a 35 or 38 pilot and a 165 or 170 main jet , air screw set to suit pilot prob 11/2 turns out from fully in

Do you know what cam is the middle? You can get the dirt bike kit that comes with an A400 cam for $70 or one with 3 cams for $110.
What's your air screw set at, the biggest pilot I whent to was 38 and I'm in cold Glasgow , now you are set up, I only ran 2 settings summer and winter I mainly only changed the pilot tbh in winter, I fitted a shim on clip 2 also at times in the Summer try not to keep changing from 2 of your best settings or you will be a mega tweeter and get fed up with the 2t

Bike was stock and have changed it to green spring, soft map, necj 38-165 middle clip 2014 300 exc. Not ridden it yet since making the mods but will find out tomorrow what the difference is. Had the 07 exc before and was very impressed when I made the same mods.
Sounds good mate should be ok at that and tweet air screw to suit and see how far it's out ,

Hope all goes well

I know but and fully understand but plug is too dark for it to be lean.
you have to do a proper test when checking plug as it will be dark if just pottering around, ive found 165/170main 35/40 pilot necj or n2zl clip 3 and air screw to set suit works very well and returns excellent mpg
