So, fed up waiting for my £175 Evotech tail tidy, I thought I’d cancel the order and see what else was out there. Didn’t like the R&G so did a bit of Ebay hopping. Ended up with this…. It’s a J-Tech Tail Tidy for a Suzuki GSX S1000F, and total price including postage…...£30.98!!!!
It’s a nice piece of kit, well made, well finished, and comes with all fittings including a reflector and led lamp. It was the nearest one I could see that had four holes, but never did I think that all four holes would exactly line up with the bike tail bodywork …. they do, and it fits perfectly as though it’s made for the R.!! You don’t have to modify the tail tidy body at all.
Basically, I used the existing indicators with a couple of 18mm washer spacers either side, as the indicators have a locating lug adjacent to the main thread, and I didn’t want to file that down. I used the existing long ‘plastic’ bolts and washers to fix the indicators to the tail tidy.
You can’t really use the existing led no. plate lamp, its too big. You’ll have to use the one supplied. This comes with bullet connectors, and cut the existing white connector off the existing no. plate lamp and solder (or connect) to the supplied extension (see pic, this has a black connector, but the wrong type)
Even the square hole you can see on the tail tidy fixing plate is directly underneath the hole where you thread the leads through into the body of the bike tail.
Bit of cable management and you’re all done……. for £31!!!
