Hi
Currently have about 2.5k miles on my SAS and the original rear tyre is just showing signs of squaring although there’s plenty of tread left.
Got a trip to Italy planned next month and will maybe do 2-2.5k miles.
I’m just a normal kind of rider and don’t do stupid stuff so Will I get there and back on the tyre or do I have to factor in a new one?
Cheers
Steve

Hi, welcome to Italy. Of course, without a photo it is not easy to understand. Will you be traveling alone or as a couple? This certainly can make a difference.

change for peace of mind, much less likely to pick up a puncture on new rubber.

Dunno about cheaper, typically you get rinsed as a Johnny Foreigner. Often cannot get the tyre you want and pay over the odds for one you don't.

Maybe pre-order will help if tyre, price and fitting agreed, but you lose the best part of a day of your holiday.

Just set off on a fresh set and save the aggro.
