Does anyone know if it's possible to put the heat shield from an SM onto the SMT. I don't want to keep the existing heat shields on, but I also don't want to burn anyone on the back either!

I do intend to replace the cans at some point which will lower the temp at the back, I might wait until then before I do this depending on what people have to say.

While I'm at it, does anyone know how to remove the black brackets under the heat shields. As I understand it they are integral to mounting the silencers onto the rear of the bike?

I'm not very mechanially minded, so you may need to bear with me if I ask stupid questions!

Yes you can do that as ive done it to mine, but ive changed back now.

I got some sm brackets (£8 each from KTM) that go behind the panel and exhaust hanger brackets (£20 each from KTM) as these are separate. The whole job cost me £56 and took abut an hour to do.

I definitely want to do that - to show off those shiny Akras if nothing else! ;-)

Out of interest Shep, why did you change back?
