Gona buy an Akrapovic slip-on for my 500
I can't find out if I need an ECU flash or not,does anyone know if KTM recommend an ECU flash?

it won't need one. The stock pipe is straight through. Its not like your removing catalytic convertors like on a road bike

you will likely get a benefit from playing with or replacing the ecu though

Looking into the OEM slip-on it looks like there's a lot of crap in there
I'll take it off and have a look...

AFAIK, the stock 4t exc exhausts are not straight through (this is based on knowledge of the 2008-11 4t range)

I found a cross-section diagram of an OEM 2020 500 6days exhaust slip-on,which showed all the scrap metal welded inside the main body.
Now I cant find it again and I have tried!
Can anyone find it and post it?

Akra fitted today and short test ride
Seemed to start quicker and sounded much better,not too loud,sounds like my old 2009 450exc
Any power gains aren't obvious,I'll find out on
tomorrow's ride
Much lighter of course and looks so much better
6days bikes should come with these,the standard slip-on sounds pathetic
Looking forward to tomorrow...

i had one on my old 2019 350 6 days, ran just fine without a flash - sounded loverley with the baffle in, a bit too loud on the lanes with in out in my view

This is the first Akra I've had that's not too loud for trailriding
On my 2013 350 and 2016 250f they were too loud and after a while it gets on your nerves
Looking forward to my 500 not sounding like a strangled 125 today...

Starts a bit quicker and settles into it's idle better
Pulls better off idle,mid-range is stronger and it flies if you hold it into the top end
Lugs better too,especially in 6th gear which I use most of the time
The sound level is spot on,you can hear what the engine's doing but it's never too loud
Looks the business,can't fault it,wish I'd had it on from the showroom

There's a fast tarmac hill up to my drive where I hold it in 5th and rev it out
fking hell I had to hang on,it really pulls hard...

In the river beds the fan came on less and for less time,must be running a bit cooler as well
