Are they any good?

I’m running a dunlop front and a michelin rear, both were brand new(ish) on Husaberg when I bought it. The ground here is mostly powdery clay dust with a hard hard bed and loads of big stones….. or slippy as ice wet clay dust when it rains. I’ve been impressed by the Maxxis I have on the cars, so I was wondering about giving them a go on the bike (plus easier to source than other makes). The ITs might be a better bet?

The Maxxenduro were the stock tyre on my 2020 300 and l liked them enough to go with another couple of sets.

For some reason - maybe because a couple of mates had them - l got a 3 tyre deal on some trackers ....... rode on them yesterday at our practice track (sand, greasy mud and grass) they were rubbish - ruined the day really.

So need new hoops - probably going to go down the Plews route - but what is the difference between the maxxis enduro and the i.t?

Thanks.

I’m going to guess the CrossIT are a bit harder (to last longer)? The knobbles look at bit more knobbily too? Enduro road legal and CrossIT not? All speculation on my part…
The Enduro will be FIM the IT is a road legal MX tyre, it’s good on anything but rocks, far better than a Tracker, longer knobs and my current set are going to last twice as long
I’ve never understood anyone who doesn’t race using FIM tyres

I think both are road legal and as far as l can remember, l think both have been oem on exc's, but happy to be corrected.

A guick google tells me that the enduro are circa ÂŁ160 ish a pair and the i.t ÂŁ110 ish a pair.

From that (and my exp of the enduro's) l would say the more expensive enduro is a better but shorter lived tyre.

Difficulty getting the Maxxis in the right size, so ended up going Dunlop in the end. I was getting a lot of punctures on the front and back, so have gone mousse. The rear’s rim lock was replaced too, it was damaged by the previous punture repair probably. The old pirelli is on the right, it has more wear than it looks and many of the knobbles had ripped or come off.

I probably didn’t need to change the front as it was an older type dunlop anyway. However if the rear is new and both are getting mousses then it seemed like a good idea. The tread pattern seems to have change a little down the centre.
