Bent expansion chamber

At some point I think I've bent the expansion chamber and It's now touching the frame and melting the bash guard.

The bike is running ok but I think I should probably sort it.

Any tips on how to bend it back without cocking it up?

Have a look at where the pipe enters the barrel, see if it is straight. To be sure remove the tailpipe and loosen the two rubber mounts that hold the spanny(expansion pipe). Remove the springs and reseat the pipe. Tighten it all up again. depending on hours remove spanny and regrease where it enters barrel.

I can't remember off the top off my head, but one of the largest sockets from my socket set fits perfectly into the neck of a 200 exhaust pipe. Fit the extension bar to the socket and then a long tube and you will be able to tweak the pipe back to it's original shape once you've worked out which way it is bent. 2 stroke riders regularly have to resort to bending. :D

If it's bent: tie down connect to pipe and ground anchor at the other end, a couple of tugs will straighten. Or: pipe off, wood in manifold use your feet or vise to bend pipe. It's worth noting if its double skinned like the oem pipe then when it's straightened you may find a little bit of the inner pipe breaks off. Not a problem just bloody annoying when you hear a rattle so give the pipe a good shake before refitting.

Thanks,

I'm not sure how its supposed to sit so I've had a look at some photos on line of a 2015 200 and it looks like its been pushed back towards the frame at the bottom.

I'm going to see if I can pull it forward / up, as I'd assumed that it had been bent on the left towards the frame and I've only tried pulling it back to the right.

I'll let you know how I get on.

I have a 16 200 and have noticed that mine appears to be bent but I don't know if it is? There is no way I could undo the dzus fastener for the bash plate without removing the expansion chamber but its not actually touching the frame/bashplate like yours. I have 1/2 and inch or so gap. Is this normal? I don't remember hitting the pipe and it seems sealed so it's probably how they are.

My 2013 200 was like this. Mucked about for ages trying to get it straight after wearing a groove in the manifold collar. Gave up after flatteningit good and proper one day.
Bought a new pipe and its almost the same.
I never could undo the Dzuz fastener for the plastic bash plate.
