As UKstanley says, Klim top dollar but worth it, had loads of different kit over the years from powerwear clothes to rukka, harlvessons etc.

Klim IMHO beats it all hands down, last weekend absolutely pissed it down, and apart from soggy gloves, non klim, i was bone dry, as its Gortex the water just beads off, not like the lined ones where you end up with a soggy heavy outer layer.

keep an eye out second hand pops up now and then, that's how i got mine

I've got a Thor jacket and while I havnt tried any klim stuff, for the money the Thor one has been fine. Been caught in the rain a few times and kept dry but I don't tend to head out when it's chucking down. I bought a 2015 spec one at the start of 2016 so was a bit cheaper, I think I paid £80ish.

Gore tex type lined jackets all use outer materials with a hydrophobic coating. This wears off, the pores in the breathable layer get blocked or stretched bigger so don't work and you still end up getting wet.

Just accept you'll get wet but wear a pvc mud jacket and you'll be wet with sweat but warm. Spend the money saved on tyres!

I've had loads of cheap jonny jackets ...as said they do the job but sweat like fuck ....I got a 24mx soft shell with detachable Arms...was on offer £24 ....cracking jacking for a morning or so on....

My shortass m8 has the Klim £500 he's obviously compensating because he has to stand on a box to look over his 17 Te 300
I myself always buy the new ktm enduro jacket even though it's been designed by a complete golfing retard because the pockets aren't fit for purpose as are the wrist adjustment on the sleeves so on that note thank god for army goretex and duct tape which worked last Sunday in the torrential downpour that lasted all day

"Klim do a zip off sleeve Jacket the Dakar, buts its too heavy to do enduros in. I ordered it and sent it back."

The Dakar jacket looks good.... But it isn't waterproof.
Not many bike jackets are. If you want a waterproof shell buy a Berghaus or Northface Anorak and chop the hood out.

New Fox Legion should be very good i suppose. Gets very good reviews, seems very durable, but not bulky adventure style. They have a fully water proof one. But no zippered sleeves.
I do have the vest, and I think it is very good. at least this time a year. Keeps me warmer than just running a jersey, but doesn't hinder my movement like a jacket. I'll be buying the waterproof jacket as well if I find the need for one. Then I should be set for life... ;)

I use "Large" Fox 360 jersey with Leatt 3df Airfit underneath. The "Large" vest fits quit well and as expected. A tad more room than the jersey I'd say. I'm 190cm and 85kg. I think I probably could have fitted a medium vest (though I haven't seen or tried one), but I think it would've been a tad on the short side on the back. A medium jacket would probably also risk short arms and tight shoulders. I would order a L jacket for sure.

It is not super tight fit. but far from baggy like Thor jerseys etc. It's just right I think.

Short answer:
true to size... :)

Riding buddy of mine had the full 2017 Fox legion range on test for DBR mag. He was really impressed with the jacket. Tested at a few enduros as well as long riders in wales over the winter. Nice & breathable in the slow tech stuff but still warm & dry on fast open moorland. We never rode in really heavy persistent rain but did a few 3-4hr rides in Welsh drizzle & low -temps. I was soaked and he was bone dry....but it has a pretty hefty price tag! He also had the sleeveless version which was good but i'd go for a cheap softshell bodywarmer as if it's wet you want full coverage

I use it more for cold weather really with the arms off .....it's OK for drizzle -rain for a short day ..morning etc but usually by the time it's hammering down I want go home anyway....I have the rain jacket aswell...that does boil up a bit ....deffo worth the money
