I’ve recently bought a 2015 250excf and it said its been serviced but I’m keen to just do one to make sure.
What oil would be recommended?

API grade SG, JASO grade MA, is what's crucial.

10W-50 viscosity for the UK summer. 5W-40 if it's very cold (freezing).

KTM dealers sell Motrex...other, cheaper, brands meeting the same standards are available.

Ignore all that synthetic/ semi-synthetic branding, it's mostly marketing. Some oils made with non-synthetic base stock can be sold as synthetic.

Noticed 10/50 harder to find, with most of the "premium" synthetic snake oils now being 10/60 and the normal stuff bring 10/40.

Reckon any quality synthetic would do, especially with regular changes.
