Hi all, am finally moving up to my first big bike after last few years on a 600RR. Tracked down one locally and everything seems to checkout fine. Just wondered if there were any recalls/updates/other known issues on the RC8 that I should be aware of? 2008 model, 3k miles, service indicator says about 5k til next service.

Any advice much appreciated.

The best way is give ktm dealer a call, tell them chassis number and they will able to tell you the bike has done all necessary recals or not.

I would also sort a test ride out at the dealers as they are not the easiest 1st big bike to ride unless you are very confident. Have you ridden a big twin ? very different to a four.

Normally all 2008 are upgraded to 2009 specs, the so famous gearbox problems with the 2008 are all gone normally, except some things like the 110Nm rear spring 2008 and a smaller oil-pump for camshaft cooling in 2009 RC8, can be a problem when doing long wheelies on the 2008.
