Years ago, l snapped the end off a lever in an off and kept it at that length ..... better operation and more room in the handguard space, only downside being the lack of ball end, hence grip tape and that suggestion to you.
Hoping for a little extra grip and less slip from the tape, as it breaks down it tends to get nice and tacky 👍 but may try some grip tape aswell and compare results, I've seen a roll on ebay for a couple of quid. I reckon heat shrink might be a good alternative aswell.
Sniper tape is good for what you want. It’s a fabric tape with a matte surface one side and sticky the other. They do various colours. Green soon takes on dirt from its surroundings and blends away. It won’t wear your gloves out in seconds either.
I’m very tempted to cut my levers down. Brake and clutch moved in as far as they’ll go, fat fingers mean the lever hits the other fingers when pulled - particularly the clutch. Looked for 1 finger levers but not much choice and seemed stupid expensive for what they are.
