Clutch Tool

Because they break getting the things off, so use a rattle gun and no worries - barely a need to hold the basket. ?
Getting them back on does not seem to stress them, and I made up a tool using some old clutch plates welded together with a handle... My mate saw it and made the same tool using bloody metal-putty-glue-stuff and no welds and it still worked a treat (and was basically free).

I think it's all about number of points of contact - ?

Here is tool (Honda version - have a few of them now). Works just as well for flywheel removal (as does rattle gun...)

For the torque three plates seems about right - two is the min as only one plate will cut into the basket teeth a bit. Any more than 3 plates is ssuper fiddllly to weld unless I give it to my mechanic friend! :) My friend with the metal-glue version drilled holes in the plates, and just puts a bar across between the basket teeth into the holes - it works but it is not as nice or safe.
