Ktm 07 - 10 run direct linkage at the rear, yet they have gone back to normal set up for 2011...

Why's that then?

ohlins hold the patent to the pds system because they designed it first and ktm under licence from ohlins were alowed to use the pds system in there bikes. The licence is due to expire very soon hence wp who ktm own have gone their own way back to a linkage system and is why no one else uses the pds system at the moment.

This is the info i've been fed form ktm r&d austria

The link-less is a great idea IMHO!! just 1 big bearing at the bottom and not loads of exaggerated 'slop' superb!

Think the more professional riders are not mad on it as it really limits your choice of suspension, but for those people who can manage 2 out of 3 races with flat tyres and only wonder why the bike handles "a bit funny" (namely, myself) they are perfect!
