In need of some new goggles and not sure which to go for, not spending big money just want something that seals well, holds up well and doesn't look like a cartoon.
Been looking at RipnRoll or Pro Grip with the Armour Vision film covers.
What are you all using?

I use the RnR colossus for wet events as they have a great field of view for a roll off. However, as soon as I can I ditch them for my 100% goggles. They are Acura I think. I have several sets. They are the cheapest 100% make but they work superb. Oldest pair is 10 years old and still work fine. All 100% goggle models use the same lens. This means you get the same clarity and minimal steaming across their entire range. They do not skimp on the most important bit.

I have other goggles from various makes. I find that the more you spend, the benefits reduce unless you’re a fashion driven rider. I’ve yet to find a better performance goggle than 100%.

I tend to go for a dark colour frame if possible and clear lens so I can see in trees. The dark frame reduces glare. A new lens every race and they don’t steam up. It’s cheap insurance. Matt Gardiner MX sells a batch of clear lens for sensible money. Coloured or mirrored lenses work if out on an open track all day but if you’re near trees, rain, clouds etc you can suddenly find you can hardly see.

Tried all brands, never found anything coming close to Scott Hustle. Cheap, no fogging, slim enough to fit into helmets with small openings (LS2, Air Aviator etc.) still good field of view.

Oakley by miles IMHO for visual acuity and quality/longevity… my old O-frame enduro vented ones are ancient now and still a decent goggle. Lasted well also. The prizm lenses in the airbrakes, etc are brilliant.

Scott goggles also decent, Mrs has a pair, good goggles. Nice foam fit and feel round the face. Good bang for buck, look nice, good lenses.

I had the ProGrip enduro ones, started breaking apart after 2yrs but they were worn by a sweaty MF in searing heat. Changing the lenses is a pain but they’ve got a massive array of different colours/tints/finishes. The reactive one for light/dark like you’d get for clearings/woods are good. Polarised ones are good too for high glare/brightness. Other colours for different conditions too, hue shift, anti glare, etc. I liked them, goggles and the lenses not that expensive.

Pricing from above probably high to low… I’m running Oakley Airbrakes now but I’m doing desert/MX type stuff mostly. The lenses and the changing system are the best out there I believe though.

Thanks guys, I've nearly always used Pro Grip purely down to my tightness and un willing to spend mega money on goggles.
In terms of roll of is it best to get a pair of ripnroll for really wet muddy events and just standard goggles for other times?
When I did motocross tear off were the thing but always found it annoying for enduro especially when you get bits of grot and mud in between the tear offs and you spend 3 hours watching mud dance around.
I've also seen these armour vision lenses and stick on film which seem like a good idea?

I can’t think of any enduro club that allows tear offs or litter on the land as the week after livestock are going to be there and farmers don’t litter pick. A tear off inside livestock isn’t good. Vets like the cash. Farmers do not like the loss of cash/animals.

In the old days you just had to blink a lot or rinse eyes with water. Bloody awful. Modern day goggles are mega! Just leaving nowt behind.

Wouldn’t bother with rip n roll for wet weather, they break pretty easy or you just end up with mud behind the film and then just being smeared across the lens.

I got a pair of EKS from infinite optics with the lens films on for wet weather riding. Wipe the lens with your glove or sleeve and it cleans off straight away. For dry weather I just use 100% Acura, they are cheap but well made enough for me.
