Hi, newbie......trying to confirm what lc4 motor I have, engine number has 8 (I know that’s 1998) and then 584.
do any of you know what lc4 it is ?
i am traditionally a yamaha guy so the Ktm numbering system is still a bit confusing, the bike is a duke II.
Thanks much
mark

Duke 2 engine is a 640LC4 with cable clutch and electric starter. the later engines from 2003 onwards I believe are with hydraulic clutch as standard.

Hi,
I saw that chart but it doesn’t define what a 584 motor is.
having researched it I know it’s supposed to be a 640 lc4 , it’s cable clutch, grey cases, o ring filter cover not gasket, however that’s the same as earlier dukes and adventure I think. Just wanted to know for sure it’s a 640

that's right, I had a 620 and donor engines with all having either a gasket or an o-ring in the cover.
there should also be a code stamped on the right side of the head, just next to the thermostat.
6B = 620
6F = 640
4C = 400
