hi chaps bought a 09 exc250 2/s about 4wks ago irode it acouple times
great bike compared to the 04 200exc iv just sold the power delivery lot smother
and not so aggressive?
since then iv bought a 010 exc2/s for my son same stock bike etc as the 09
went on that to try it out and it performs alot diff/to the 09
iv check that they are running the same pv springs it seems more responsive thanthe 09
could it be the 09 has a cat exhaust/do they have a diffrent shape part number
they look the same to me?

any advice would be great
cheers mxr/53

The cat is at the fattest point. Poke a hose pipe in it, if the hose wont go through you need to slit it open, remove the cat and weld it up again.

............... or just swap exhausts on the 2 bikes and see if performance changes ;)

The new bike will have new piston and rings of course, the 09 might be tired?

Check the jetting as if the 10 is leaner it could explain why it is crisper.

They all come with 2 pipes. But sometimes one goes "missing" just like the second set of sprockets and chain
