Check the availability of engine parts for that era of motor (XC4). KTM have been known to make parts obsolete after 10 years .......

 

Oh great. Yeah will do. What’s it worth in current condition any ideas. Might just be easier to get rid & get another.

 

Its going to be worth what someone wants to pay! You could break it, but that is time consuming. Best bet would be to advertise it as is and test the market.

Well I got the motor out & broke it down. Looks like the bits weren’t metal. None magnetic. The chain guide is decimated & all the bits are from that. Haven’t found anything else destroyed as yet.

 

Is the short screen full of bits?

 

Drained the oil & it’s all clean. Still in good condition actually as it’s only done about 4-5 hours. Sump plug magnet was clean & so was the screen

 

How do I get that off please ?

Genuine KTM tool is cheaper than that! Put the nut on loosely when using the tool, stops damage to the crank.
