Hi all

690 Duke front fork foot and slider:

37077

In the picture above, the mud/grime is "cracked" between the silver slider and the black cast foot. It's cracked because the foot is everso slightly loose.

I've only seen this since I took the wheel out, so the forks are no longer pulled tight together by the axel. The other side is completely rigid.

Has this fork died, or am I going to die riding with it? Or is this okay?

Thanks

Thanks @TrouserSnake (nice name 😬)

Inside of foot:

37080

Nothing looking upwards, but there is a 2 mm Allen key screw on the inside of each foot. Neither were loose. Tightened the associated one and it might have done something. I undid the healthy one and it didn't suddenly become loose.

The only pic i've found of a shiny fork without its foot on is this:
37081

Random thing from google. The shiny slider is screwed into the fork. If mine is like this then maybe my foot has wound loose a bit, and that tiny grub screw just helps to stop it unwinding.
