i tried silicone grease as i could get it free at the time and it didn't seem to cause any damage.... doesn't dry up either

bib mousse is effectively just a form of silicone grease with a soluble element. Pipe grease works just as well if you can get it, but must be silicone not lithium etc. something like this for example.

I spent a long time talking to small chemical companies about this with a view to having a specific formula made. Samples worked well but no one will produce it in small enough quantities, we'd have had to buy tons of it.

Maybe silicone grease would be a winner then? why does it have a soluble portion to it? better for business?

Probably so it breaks down in watercourses and not get detected by the EA.

that looks differant to the silicone grease i was thinking of and used... thats clear, my one was more like gasoline texture and white
