Has anyone a recommendation or experience of a device that can record your route on a ride and also be used for 'fixing' the location of photos that you take along the way?

I have found a couple of units (GTrek & Columbus V-900; aka Visiontac VGPS-900 ) that seem to fit the bill (costs between £100 & £125; latter cheaper on US fleabay). I do like the ability to plot your route on Google Earth.

They are not without their limitations, and it does seem an expensive gadget, especially if you have a TomTom or other SatNav on the bike already. I was also wondering if there was an alternative (cheaper/better) solution.

Garmin Edge 705; waterproof GPS with heartrate monitor, barametric altimeter, and track record function for use in geotagger or route viewing on Google etc.
