I went to the Kilburn Grass Hill climb today, What a good day out.

The Pickering Motor Club ran it at short notice as a trial event for next years Kilburn Feast weekend. They are planning a 2 day event with Grass Tracking, possibly a Trials event and then the Hill Climb event.

Today was really good although it did only attract a few entries, this is probably to do with the short notice it was held at.

They altered the route a little to slow the bikes down as they originally had a couple of hundred yards run up to the grass hill and were flying up it.

Riders were set off in 2's and 3's so that allowed for a little competition between them as well.

As I say it was only a trial event so no timing was available, it was more like a social event today but everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves.

It looked like a lot of fun, I had that ache in my stomach, wishing I had brought my bike.

Must get booked in for next year... just for a laugh, nothing competitive you understand ;)

It was better watching from the top of the hill, they were flying up it.

The old guy on that vintage even made it up and earned a large round of applause.

Last time it was run nearly 40 years ago nobody reached the top.
