Hi Guys,

just got a 85sx today. When I’m coming to a stop in first gear and press the clutch in the bike quits when at a stop. All the other gears are fine when running, just noticed this

should this happen? Is it some sort of safety feature?

thanks a lot,
Will.

I’m not too sure. I’m new to this. Basically if I have the clutch held in and come to a stop in a gear the bike cuts or stalls.
Is that what the problem is? How easy is the fix?
Thanks a lot

You cannot adjust the clutch as it is hydraulic. Could be several things. Some of the plates may be stuck if not been used for a while. If this is the issue you can sometimes free them off by putting the bike in 3rd or 4th gear and try rocking bike back and forward without pulling the lever in. It may have air in the system - have you checked the fluid level in the master? Fingers on clutch basket could be grooved which stops the plates separating. Can you start it in gear? You should be able to Presume there is fresh gearbox oil in it. Did you get any bike history of any work done from the seller? Bob
