I replaced my blown main beam with one of those Halfords brighty blue ones.....it does stand out more. Same wattage I believe but works better. Someone clever will explain why soon.....

Don't like the idea of a cooling fan.....it wont last, when it fails how hot? I thought they are supposed to be far more efficient...so why so much heat....

Philips extreme bulbs, on test they beat some PIAA bulbs...even none legal ones....

 

Just my opinion but think your wasting your time with bulbs, they help, a bit, but the route cause is that Ktm's reflector is pretty shit, swapping bulbs is just polishing a turd.

Philips have got a fan free h7 led lamp called a lumiled. I've had a hid lamp in for last 36 months and the excess heat which is way more than std halogen has fried the reflector (within headlamp casing)!!! Just scraped through MOT but will need replacing before next winter!

I'm looking at alternatives and just spoken to Gabriel at Zenoverland. He stocks the cyclops led, which is great for 1190/1290 but not so for 990. Apparently a few of his customers have installed the Phillips Lumiled lamp units and they're happy with them. Anyone on here tried them?

I dont want to put heavy duty burners in that will damage the headlamp case as KTM want a whopping £150 for that replacement unit... I'm slowly learning from my mistakes!!
