I've found a bike on ebay that's 5 miles away from me and he recons the top end has gone. But if i can get the overall bike cheap i'm willing to fix the engine up.

My question is, how many of you have had experence with these bikes?
And where can i get parts? I was looking for a top end, and the cylinder alone was coming out at like $500!!!.

Do you know of any sites that do reconditioned bits?
Do i have to pre-mix? Or does it do it automatcialy

What year is it and depends what has "gone".
It might not work out any cheaper if the barrel has to be replaced/repaired.

Well the chap on ebay recons that the 'head' has been sent to a KTM dealer and it needs a new top end.

Which i can only assume means new cylinder head/barrel/piston. And hopfully not crank.

It's a 2000 bike.

It will cost around £600 for a replate, piston, conrod, main bearings, seals and gaskets. Takes the edge of the bargain price.

Then there is all the worn parts on the chassis to sort out.
