I know this thread has been done before but I thought I would recap for any newcommers. The brushes on my starter were knackered and as you will find out no spares are available from KTM but no worries you can get a sarter repair kit for a Mitsuba SM 13 off Ebay from motorsportelectrics perfect fit and back on the road in 20 minutes.
I will just say before you spend £30 on the repair kit you should check that the brushes move freely in their holders as one of mine was stuck (should have looked more closely before splashing out) you just need to remove it, a bit fiddily as the spring is quite strong and just file off any mild corrosion as that may be enough to do the trick to let the brushes move freely enough

Good luck
