So I have a 2017 superduke and I recently bought it from a coworker just before I bought it he did a oil change and for the first time put a type of mineral oil in it and in total only 1500 miles were put on with that oil maybe less I just brought it into a dealership for a full inspection and oil change and they put synthetic in again do I need to worry they said there’s a small chance it could cause seals to leak but it that’s really big threat I need to worry about or what the whole deal with that

....and some useful background info;

"Is it safe to switch to synthetic motor oil?"

The small chance of seals leaking referred to by your dealer isn't wrong though.... if the seals are not in good condition in the first place... [read the article] and the engine would have had to been using mineral oil for a long time (years).

The original rumour I heard was that you shouldn't put fully synth in an engine that was run on mineral.
It's because very old cars has some engine gaskets that were cork, like the valve cover.
Cork needs oil to help it seal but something happens to it if you then switched the fully synthetic, the cork seal would shrink a little and thus you could get a load of new leaks... or something like that.
